Phoenix Area Asbestos Removal
Many older buildings contain asbestos. It is a naturally occurring mineral and was used as a fire retardant in building materials prior to the 1980s. It can be found in all types of old building materials and is most well-known as a component of acoustic ceilings, commonly known as “popcorn ceilings.”
Asbestos was banned in US building materials in 1978, however installers were allowed to use up remaining stocks, so houses built as late as 1986 could still have asbestos. The only way to be sure is to remove a sample and have it tested by a competent laboratory. At Desert Dry we only work with the top testing labs in the Phoenix-metro area.
